Les Cent Livres des Hommes (ORTF, 1969-1973) was a series of literary programs created by Claude Santelli and Françoise Verny, and produced notably by Santelli, Jean Archimbaud, and Serge Moati. Planned for one hundred episodes but completed at thirty-nine, the series aimed to introduce great literary works, 'chefs-d’œuvre', to a younger audience through a mix of dramatization, reading, and documentary techniques. It marked a transfer of cultural legitimacy from writers and critics to a generation of television producers, offering a new model of educational and creative literary broadcasting - 'télévision d’auteur'.

Jardin d'enfants follows several groups at a daycare centre, focusing on the seemingly mundane daily lives of one- to five-year-olds: their interactions, confrontations, desires, curiosities, and frustrations. These candid composite images feed our insatiable curiosity about these unbridled beings with budding motor skills who are testing their brand-new senses and the constraints of their worlds, those individual bubbles in which they are firmly at the centre. Over time, socialization does its almost invisible work and behaviours develop, reminding us of all the effort and energy expended in shaping the social animals we are.

The cartoon version of Albert Gyergyai's beautiful story about a prince named Árgilus and a fairy maiden, História, presents a struggling human life path. The youngest of the king's three sons, Árgyélus, fights the most determinedly. Despite all the difficulties and setbacks, he does not give up on finding his love, the beautiful fairy maiden. This is how his life ends, he turns gray, and grows tired of the trials. However, the happiness he finally finds restores his strength and youth.
